Thank you to all those that have responded so far to the Withernsea Seafront Regeneration Survey. Based on the comments provided, Withernsea Town Council has compiled a list of frequently asked questions to answer concerns and queries about the proposed regeneration. You can find these here.
For those that haven't seen, Withernsea Town Council has been consulting on the proposed Seafront Regeneration. The proposed project is broken into three elements:
The introduction of beach huts along the front of the Memorial Gardens and the Fishing Compound.
The installation of 10 micro business kiosks in Valley Gardens, creating a ‘coastal market’. These kiosks are designed to be small and low-cost, providing space for micro-businesses and new start-ups, alongside supporting larger seasonal markets and events.
Formalisation of the pedestrianisation-priority section of the Central Promenade from the HM Coastguard station to the Fishing Compound. This will prioritise pedestrians and create space for the beach huts but still provide access for authorised users.
If you would like to complete the survey, you can find this here.

Thank you to all that shared their views of the Withernsea All Hallows Feastival which took place on Saturday 22nd October 2022.
The infographic above provides a summary of the key findings from the community engagement which took place at the end of 2022 after the event.
Results show that 95% of respondents felt positively about the All Hallows Feastival, with almost 100% saying they would attend another event in Valley Gardens.
The key benefits from this event were that it attracted more people to the Withernsea area where they enjoyed activities for all the family including live music, food and fair ground rides.
The key benefit to the town centre businesses was that 63% of respondents also visited local businesses as well as the event.
People also had the opportunity to request what other events they would like to see in Valley Gardens. Suggestions included fun family activities, seasonal events and live music.
Thank you to all that attended and responded. Please subscribe to be notified of other projects in your area: https://eastyorkshirecoast.commonplace.is/
